London's Borough Market to showcase Hampshire Fare

London's Borough Market to showcase Hampshire Fare

Hampshire Fare is proud to be taking a dose of the countryside to London’s iconic Borough Market for a two-day Hampshire showcase.

The Hampshire Food Fare will take place on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th June in the Market Hall at this top London destination for food lovers. Borough Market is committed to providing an ever-changing offering of regional produce.  There will be the opportunity to meet the makers and be tempted by sparkling wine, cheese, watercress, trout, wasabi, rapeseed oil, vinegars, cider, biltong and fish cakes.

Tracy Nash, Commercial Manager of Hampshire Fare commented on the opportunity: “Hampshire is a hotspot for food lovers and we cannot wait to take a flavour of what our county has to offer up to London’s oldest food market. We plan to entice Londoners to July’s Hampshire Food Festival to come and explore our fabulous and flavoursome county.”

Producers representing Hampshire at the event include Beau Farm, Chalk Stream Foods, Raimes Sparkling Wine, The Watercress Company, Lyburn, Stag & Bull Biltong, The Wasabi Company, Meon Valley Cider and Wild Island.

To mark World Gin Day on the 8th June, Winchester Distillery will be at the two-day event with bottles of the award-winning Twisted Nose gin made with Hampshire watercress. Top Hampshire chefs including Damian Brown from Winchester’s Chesil Rectory will also take to the cookery theatre on the 8th June to demonstrate their favourite Hampshire dishes.

The Hampshire Food Fare is being supported by Visit Hampshire, Test Valley Borough Council and Winchester BID.

The good news is that any market goers left with an appetite for more can hot trot it to July’s month-long Hampshire Food Festival organised by Hampshire Fare with over 100+ events just a short train ride away.
